Volunteer management software for Kenyan campaigns
Volunteers win ground campaigns, and campaigns lose track of them within weeks. VotePulse registers volunteers where you meet them, places each one under a coordinator and ward, and shows who is actually active.

The volunteer problem every campaign has
After a good rally a campaign signs up hundreds of volunteers on paper. A month later nobody can say who they are, which ward they cover or who they report to. The same few people do all the work and nobody notices the rest drifted away.
Managing volunteers is about three things: capturing them properly the first time, giving each one a clear place in the structure, and seeing activity so you can thank the active ones and re-engage the rest.
What Volunteer management does
-
Register in the field
Agents add volunteers in GroundForce with name, phone, ward and an optional photo, even without signal.
-
No duplicate people
Registrations are matched by phone and then by national ID, so a retried sync or two agents registering the same person never creates a duplicate.
-
National ID protected
If a national ID is captured it is encrypted and never shown back in full.
-
Coordinator structure
Each volunteer reports to a coordinator, building a real structure from candidate to ward teams.
-
Activity leaderboard
A leaderboard ranked on recorded activity — field reports, doors knocked, surveys and days checked in — not self-reported claims.
-
Custom roles
Define the roles your campaign uses, such as ward coordinator, mobiliser or youth lead.
-
Messaging
Direct messages, HQ broadcasts and area group conversations inside GroundForce, with an SMS fallback for HQ broadcasts.
How it works
-
Set up roles and wards
Define your volunteer roles and the wards each coordinator covers.
-
Register volunteers where you meet them
Agents register people at meetings and door-to-door in GroundForce.
-
Assign them
Place each volunteer under a coordinator. The relationship graph shows the structure.
-
Keep them active
Use the leaderboard and messaging to recognise the active ones and follow up with the rest.
What it does not do
We would rather you know the limits before you buy than discover them in the middle of a campaign.
- VotePulse does not pay volunteers. Allowances are handled through your own finance process, which the finance module can track.
- Activity rankings count what volunteers record in the app. Work done off the app is not counted.
Who uses it
- Volunteer coordinators
- Recruit, assign and follow up in one place.
- Woman Representative and Senate campaigns
- County-wide volunteer networks run by lean teams.
- Party mobilisers
- Structured networks that outlast a single rally.
Software, or software with our team
Volunteer management is included in VotePulse plans, priced by the office you are contesting — see plans and prices. If you would rather have our team set it up and run it with you, our volunteer operations consultancy is quoted separately.
Frequently asked questions
How do volunteers join?
Field agents register them in the GroundForce app with their name, phone and ward. Registration works offline and syncs when the phone reconnects.
Do volunteers need to install an app from the Play Store?
No. Field agents use GroundForce, which installs from the browser on Android or iPhone. Volunteers who are only registered do not need the app at all.
How do I see which volunteers are active?
The activity leaderboard ranks agents on what they recorded — field reports, doors knocked, surveys and days checked in — so you can see who is working and who has gone quiet.
