GroundForce: field operations app for campaign teams

GroundForce is the app your field agents and coordinators carry. It installs from the browser on any Android phone or iPhone, works where there is no signal, and turns every visit, meeting and incident into a GPS-tagged report that HQ can see.

Why field reporting breaks down

Field reports in most campaigns are voice notes and WhatsApp photos. They cannot be counted, they cannot be mapped, and there is no way to know whether the coordinator who says he visited six villages actually left town.

Rural wards make it worse: signal drops, data bundles run out and a report that fails to send is a report lost. A field app for Kenya has to work offline first.

What GroundForce field app does

  • Installs from the browser

No Play Store or App Store. Agents receive a login by SMS with a link to install GroundForce.

  • Works offline

Reports, photos and signatures are saved on the phone without signal and sync automatically when it reconnects.

  • GPS check-ins

Daily check-ins and reports are tagged to a location, so HQ sees where work actually happened.

  • Photo evidence

Attach photos to field reports and incidents as visual proof.

  • Custom field forms

Build forms in the portal — surveys, meeting reports, GPS forms — and push them to agents.

  • Territory map

Each agent sees a map of their own wards and polling stations.

  • Coverage heatmap for HQ

HQ sees a ward-by-ward canvassing heatmap for the last 30 days.

  • Field coach

Agents can ask the campaign’s field coach questions and get answers drawn only from your manifesto and campaign material.

  • Merchandise requests

Coordinators request merchandise from the app, and it flows into logistics and finance.

  • Your campaign colours

Your logo, colours and motto on every agent’s screen.

How it works

  1. Add your agents

Add agents in the portal with their phone number, role and area. Each gets an agent number and PIN by SMS.

  2. Install GroundForce

Agents open the link and add the app to their home screen.

  3. Report from the field

Check in each day, submit reports and forms, register volunteers and flag incidents — online or offline.

  4. Watch it from HQ

Reports appear in the Command Center, on the coverage heatmap and in the agent activity dashboard.

What it does not do

We would rather you know the limits before you buy than discover them in the middle of a campaign.

  • GPS tagging records where the phone was. It cannot stop an agent from lending their phone to someone else.
  • Offline reports sync only when the phone reconnects; HQ sees them from that moment.

Frequently asked questions

Does GroundForce work without internet?

Yes. Reports, photos and signatures are queued on the phone and sync when it reconnects. Agents can work a full day in a ward with no signal.

Which phones does it support?

Any recent Android phone or iPhone with a browser. GroundForce is a progressive web app, so there is nothing to download from an app store.

How does HQ know an agent really visited a place?

Check-ins and reports carry the phone’s GPS location and time, and photos can be attached. HQ sees reports on a map and in each agent’s history.

Can we create our own forms?

Yes. The form builder lets you design surveys, meeting reports and GPS forms in the portal and send them to agents.
