Election risk center: polling-station coverage risk
The biggest election-day risk for a campaign is simple: a polling station with nobody there to witness the count. The Election Risk Center shows which stations are at risk of going uncovered, based on what your campaign actually knows.

The risk you can actually manage
Kenyan campaigns need an agent at every polling station to witness voting and counting and to receive a copy of the result declaration. Stations without an agent are stations where the campaign has no record of the result.
Some tools promise to score polling stations for violence or unrest. We deliberately do not: there is no reliable data for that, and publishing an invented risk score for a real, named polling station would be dangerous misinformation.
What Election risk center does
-
Agent coverage
Which polling stations have an assigned agent and which do not.
-
Reported incidents
Stations where your agents have reported incidents.
-
Reporting risk
A clear view of the stations most likely to go unreported on election day.
-
Linked to agent management
Go straight from an uncovered station to assigning an agent.
How it works
-
Load your stations
Your race’s polling stations come from the IEBC geography.
-
Assign agents
Each assignment reduces the station’s reporting risk.
-
Watch incidents
Incidents reported from the field raise a station’s risk.
-
Close the gaps
Before election day, work down the list of uncovered stations.
What it does not do
We would rather you know the limits before you buy than discover them in the middle of a campaign.
- Risk here means reporting risk — the chance a station goes uncovered — not a prediction of violence or unrest.
- It does not use connectivity, historical delay or equipment data, because that data is not reliably available.
Who uses it
- Chief agents
- Where the coverage gaps are.
- Election-day managers
- Which stations to watch.
Software, or software with our team

Frequently asked questions
Does the Election Risk Center predict violence?
No. It measures reporting risk from agent assignment and incident reports your team submits. It does not score places for violence.
How is a station’s risk calculated?
From whether it has an assigned agent and whether agents have reported incidents there. Both come from your campaign’s own data.
